Dominion Voting Systems is a company that is often associated with the numerous voting machines used in the 2020 United States elections, remember that? Well, following Joe Biden’s victory, loyalists of Donald Trump made serious allegations against the firm. There were suggestions that the company was providing machines for Biden to manipulate the votes, you know? And then, hectic arguments through the media helped spread the claims, led by big Trump supporters like Mike Lindell (MyPillow CEO), Rudy Giuliani (Trump’s lawyer), and other persons like Patrick Byrne.
Though, Dominion rejected the claims and decided to defend itself legally; hence it initiated lawsuits against several parties, including One America News Network (OAN), for broadcasting false allegations. Right now, the company is suing for over $1 billion, which shows how seriously Dominion’s business and its image were damaged as a result of the false accusations made against it. What’s The Scene So Far?
In order to protect its business from misinformation, Dominion initiated a lawsuit against the people who were carrying out such false allegations. Among the legal actions was one against OAN and Lindell, which was claiming over $1 billion. And just so you know, this case was part of a wider legal procedure, for example, Dominion recently was involved in a lawsuit against Fox News where the two parties reached a settlement of $787 million. Well, he showed aggressive behavior that included yelling, using vulgar language, and even beating the table with his fists. Like in one instance, he left the room to be on the podcast of Steve Bannon to discuss the promotion of the company that produces the pillows he sells. Lindell also called for permits that were last-minute and also sought the company’s agreement that they would be disrupted by court cases and it did its job illegally. His behavior whilst he was being interrogated especially when it came to MyPillow or his involvement in the election controversy was one of great exasperation. He proclaimed that he was not just “the MyPillow guy” and that was his effort towards “saving the country”.
This guy Lindell was such a misbehaving person on the scene that Eric Coomer’s attorney had to ask the judge to drop the hammer on him and make him pay the costs of the deposition because he was so disrespectful. He was making it tough for everybody, and the reporter in the room also had to leave because of his crazy behavior, all in all, he made himself look like an insane person, and that’s not a good thing at all considering the allegations made against him.
